There are several school activities that will have floats in the parade.  If your student will be going with a coach/advisor that day they will not need to send a note to school.  Students will have lunch at approximately 11:00 that day.  If your student watches the parade with the staff they will be dismissed to the busses at the elementary immediately after the parade.

Homecoming 2023 “Lennox Orioles Have Got the Beat”

Things are getting quite busy at Lennox High School! Our fall sports/activities season is under way, classes have begun, and Homecoming 2023 is right around the corner. The HS Student Council has been preparing and is ready to share our Homecoming plans!

Our biggest event, Homecoming, will have the theme of… Lennox Orioles Have Got the Beat! High school students will show their spirit by dressing up during the week of September 11th through the 15th. The dress-up days center around this year’s theme, Lennox Orioles Have Got the Beat! A week full of music theme references, fun dress-up days, and daily games!

Dress up days are as follows: Beach Boys Monday, Slim Shady Tuesday (Rappers), True Color Wednesday (9th- Green, 10th- pink, 11th Blue, 12th- Purple,  Western vs. Barbie Thursday) and Oriole Spirit for Friday!

During the week we will have games throughout the day to keep students on their toes. During the week we will have “Hide the Duck”, where during every lunch period a duck will be hidden somewhere in the lobby-cafeteria area. We will also have a food donation-drive for every grade. Whichever grade raises the most donations of canned goods or other necessities will win points for their class! A Kahoot! Game in which students will match teachers with their own Walk-Up Songs. Ending the week, we will have our Homecoming Day activities, as well as our 5th Quarter event, with raffle prizes to give out for the winners of our fun games!

The public is invited to watch any activities during the week, consisting of Coronation Monday, Sept. 11 at 8pm, Boys Golf at Vermillion (Tuesday, Sept. 12), Volleyball at Elk Point Jefferson (Tuesday, Sept 12th) Cross Country at Yankton Trails (Tuesday, Sept 12th),Volleyball at Parkston (Thursday, Sept. 14th), and Football versus Custer Friday, Sept. 15th at 6:00pm. Friday, September 15th will also be our Homecoming Parade starting at 1:30 pm, and our Varsity Football game against Custer at home starting at 6:00 pm. We will also have our “5th Quarter Event” starting after the Homecoming Football Game (Friday, Sept 15th).

Please contact Mrs. Shade (Kendra.Shade@k12.sd.us) if you have any questions!
