JA Inspire
8th grade students will be attending the JA Inspire event at the Sioux Falls Convention Center on November 19th from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. JA Inspire is more than a career fair. It brings together the business community and local schools and is designed to help launch middle school students into their future - high school, postsecondary education, and careers beyond. The program consists of three segments: (1) pre-event career-oriented sessions (led by Mr. Sattler); (2) the JA Inspire event, and (3) a post-event reflection.
Digital Citizenship Assembly (AKA “Digcit”). Digcit is an hour-long assembly presented by a school attorney focused on educating students about the impact of social media and cell phone usage, from a lawyer's perspective. The session will focus on the recent science surrounding social media, sexting/inappropriate pictures, and cyberbullying and the related consequences, both school based and criminal. Student assemblies will be on October 30, 2024 – 9:00 AM for JH and HS to follow at 10:15.
