Weekly Update for Lennox JH and HS

Picture Day: If you are unable to attend, picture retakes will be on September 17.

REGISTRATION REMINDER: We are less than a week away from the first day of school! A few important reminders are on page 4 to help make sure your student(s) are ready for the new school year:

JH-HS Open House: August 24 from 5-7pm. Meet your teachers, get your schedules, lockers, etc.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! August 25: The Doors open by 7am each morning. Classes begin at 8:15am. Breakfast is available from 7:45-8:15am.

South Parking Lot Closed on Tuesday (8/25) – The Lennox Fire Department will be doing a training in our South Lot on the first day of school. Any overflow parking should use Main Street for parking.

Lockers: All 7^th grade students will be assigned a locker. If students in grades 8-12 want a locker, they may request one from their 1^st period teacher.

Road Construction on Oriole Avenue: Due to road construction on Oriole Avenue, access to the JH-HS will only be available via Main Street for the first several weeks of the school year. This will affect morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups, so please plan accordingly. In order to limit the amount of traffic congestion after school, we will use staggered release times for student/drivers (3:15 HS Study Halls and Dual Credit / 3:20 HS Students /3:25 JH & Bus Riders.) This will be adjusted as needed.

Junior High – Students may not use cell phones (all personal smart devices – like watches and glasses) during the school day.  Phones must be kept in lockers throughout the day.  They may not be used at lunches or during study halls.

High School – Students must place cell phones in the storage compartment in each classroom during class-time.  Students may not have cell phones in restrooms or locker rooms. High School students may use phones at lunch and during passing periods, but not during study halls, SRB, etc. Use of watches or other smart devices are included.

Smart Pass:

The JH and HS will continue using Smart Pass to control student movements outside of the classroom during class periods. Students will be limited on the number of times they may leave a classroom each day. There can be exceptions for emergencies, however, these will be monitored closely.

New Daily Schedules for JH and HS: The JH and HS daily schedules have been changed. Please see page 2 for details.

Auditions for the LHS fall show "A Crimson House Murder" will be August 31 from 6-9pm.  Please see the drama bulletin board for audition forms and more information.  Questions? Contact Mrs. Sayler at christi.sayler@k12.sd.us.  No late auditions will be accepted so please make arrangements before the 31^st if you are unable to attend that evening.

Schedules: All schedule changes must be completed by August 28.
