8/20/21 – WEEKLY UPDATE from the JH-HS
Good afternoon Lennox JH-HS Students, Parents and Guardians:
There are not too many additions to this week’s letter. Major additions have been highlighted. Have a great weekend – See you next week!!
Open House
Our open house is scheduled for Monday, August 23, from 5-7 pm. Students will receive their class schedules, lockers (7-8th grade), sign up for lockers (HS), and you will have the chance to meet your teachers. HS students report to your SRB for your schedule (Seniors pick up schedules in the Office). JH report to your 1st block class to pick up your schedule. Signs will be posted in the lobby.
Dual Credit
Dual Credit classes begin on August 23. Laptops for Dual Credit students will be available for pickup during Open House from 5-7pm. If you need your laptop earlier, you can pick them up from the HS office on the 23rd. Students taking Dual Credit Courses should check their emails for information from Mr. Breske – School Counselor. Students in Dual Credit will have a meeting during the school day on August 25 at 10am.
ACT Prep Class
Lennox High School is partnering with Sylvan Learning Center to offer our ACT Prep class this year. The format and expectations of this Prep Class will be different from our previous ACT Prep course. We will have an informational meeting on August 23rd at 7pm in the HS Cafeteria for Junior/Senior students and parents interested in learning more about this opportunity. See page 2 for more information.
Shedule Changes for HS Students
Please stop in the office if you need to make schedule changes. Mr. Allison will be available to make schedule changes on August 24 during office hours. All schedule changes for first semester must be completed by August 27.
First Day of School
The first day of school is August 25. The school day begins at 8:15 and ends at 3:25. ALL SENIORS report to the Cafeteria at 8:15.
COVID Protocols
Desktops and door handles will be cleaned regularly by staff. Water fountains will be turned off, but water bottle fillers will be on. Students should bring a water bottle to school if they want water during the day. We have some water bottles available in the office for students. Masking is optional for students and staff.
Daily Attendance
Please be sure to call the JH-HS office if your student will be late, needs to leave early or will be gone for the entire day due to illness, appointments, etc. Darci Granum – Attendance Secretary – 647-2203 (ext. 5001)
Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast is served daily from 7:45-8:15. Student meals, breakfast, and lunch, are available at no cost again this year. Ala Carte items and second entrees are available for additional cost.
Picture Retake Day
If you missed our District Registration/Picture Day last week or want a picture retaken, Scherling Photography will be back on the morning of September 8 to do picture retakes.
