Daily Attendance

Please be sure to call the JH-HS office if your student will be late, needs to leave early or will be gone for the entire day due to illness, appointments, etc.  Darci Granum – Attendance Secretary – 647-2203 (ext. 5001)

 

HS Class Registration for 23-24 – Informational Parent Meeting at 7pm in the Cafeteria on February 16, during PT Conferences.

LHS Semester of Work Presents: Sioux Falls Fire Rescue – Feb. 15 @9am – see Flyer on Page 5

We encourage Juniors and Seniors interested in Fire Rescue as a potential career to join in on a presentation about training, education, and job duties of a member of the Sioux Falls Fire Rescue team. See poster below for more information.

 

Drug Free School Survey – Students in Grades 7-12 will be asked to complete a Drug-Free/Bully Free school survey from our partners at Carroll Institute during the week of February 21-24. If a parent would like to review the contents of the survey, please notify the building principal.  The surveys can also be viewed during Parent-Teacher conferences on Feb. 16.

 

STC Engineering Camp - FREE Engineering Camp at STC this summer (June 5-8, 2023). I think this is a great opportunity for your students that are grades 9-12. Governors Cyber Academy – The Governors Cyber Academy at Dakota State University (DSU) expands awareness of and access to cyber education and career pathways to students throughout the state of South Dakota and beyond. Free, online tutoring available for K-12 students. South Dakota students and families can access a new, online tutoring program, staffed by college students who are preparing to become teachers. The Dakota Dreams Online Tutoring Program offers FREE online tutoring to K-12 students across the state. One-on-one tutoring sessions can help students with their homework, tackle specific trouble areas, and address broader educational concepts. Please note: In order to access the service, parents or guardians must register their students, not the school.

 

SDSU Learning Expo – March 3rd - South Dakota State University is teaming up with Educators Rising of South Dakota to raise up the next generation of educators. High school students interested in a possible career in teaching will have the opportunity to learn what it means to be an educator at this all-day event. Breakout Sessions include: Ag Education, FACS Education, Early Childhood, Secondary Education, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Music. See Mr. Breske if you are interested.

The Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation is now accepting applications for its high school scholarship program (scholarship application is attached). The Care Foundation will be awarding multiple $1,000 scholarships for graduating hgh school seniors who will be attending a technical college, or university and major in a home building industry related field of study. Scholarship recipients must reside in the service areas of Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha or Turner counties.
