The sixth graders are doing different activities as a Viking for a day. They built a boat, learned to weave, built a longhouse, figured out their diets, wrote as a Viking, and designed their clothes.



The sixth graders had their field trip today! They went to DeGeest, did some fishing, and finished the day off with a little bowling. They all had a great time!










LWC Intermediate Student Council had their last meeting yesterday. It ended with ice cream and awards!


The sixth graders had some guest speakers today to talk about healthy environments. The talked about safety on the roads, energy drinks, hydration, and CPR.






6th graders have been busy the last couple of weeks preparing for debates. At the beginning they were given a topic and were told if they were for or against that topic so they could do the research. The last few days they have been debating their topics.
They also have been playing each other in chess to improve on brain function, memory and cognitive abilities while building on their planning, problem solving and spatial skills.










5th graders had the best time on their field trip to The Outdoor Campus today! They got to do some archery, fishing, and orienteering.










Lots of Science and Math going on in the Intermediate this week. The 5th graders have been hard at work creating their biomes for Science. They got to choose which ecosystem they wanted to create out of shoeboxes. The sixth graders have been busy creating their own golf holes using their math skills. They drew up what they wanted on graph paper, using measurements and then making it come to life with cardboard any another objects they want.









LWC Intermediate finished their March Madness bracket with 6th grade, Mrs. Adney's class, taking the overall win!





LWC Intermediate made posters for the Lennox Oriole girls basketball team and gave it to them at their send off.

Mr. Larsen made his debut last night with 5th and 6th grade students. They sang a mix of folk songs, Hebrew, and a song composed by a local Augustana graduate. Great job everyone! 🎶










❄️🐧These penguins are looking for a new home! Sixth grade science students are creating dwellings that minimize thermal energy transfer, so their penguins stay nice and cold. ❄️🐧

It is Read Across America Week. In honor of Dr. Suess's birthday LWC Intermediate has been celebrating with dress up days and other fun activities. Today Mrs. Adney's class read to Mrs. Hinker's, junior kindergartener class.





LWC Intermediate Student Council recently hosted a successful fundraiser, receiving 109 orders. Thank you to everyone who supported and participated in this event!



In honor of the Winter Olympics, LWC Intermediate will be hosting a two week event for students to be able to win metals in Math and Reading. Today we held an opening ceremony for the Oriole Olympics where we had events like bobsledding, curling, hockey, speed skating, and trivia. Torchbearers were Drake, Talen, Hannah, and Eric.








Staff from Showplace Cabinetry came to Mr. Hale's class and discussed how they use math in their job. The class is currently learning about finding surface area and volume of 3D shapes

LWC Intermediate did a Toy Drive this month and those that donated a toy had the chance to pie a teacher in the face. There was one student from each class that got to choose a teacher of their choice. (Not all teachers are pictured)










LWC Intermediate had a fun filled morning with championship games in dodgeball with Mr. DeWitt's class winning 5th grade and Mrs. Mikkelsen's winning 6th grade. The LWC Intermediate Champions for 2025 was Mr. DeWitt vs Mrs. Mikkelsen with Mrs. Mikkelsen's class winning it all!







LWC Intermediate Student Council ran a Toy Drive for Sanford Children's Hospital. Thank you to everyone who donated to the cause. Pictured are student council members with Mrs. Havrevold, who started this tradition.

The Outdoor Campus came to help the 6th graders connect literature and wildlife after reading Where the Red Fern Grows.









The Jazz Band came to LWC Intermediate and performed for 5th and 6th grade during lunch to prepare the for Festival of Tables that happens tomorrow.
